Coast Guard crews from Oahu are searching for a missing man this afternoon who was reported overboard about 600 miles north of American Samoa.
The crew of the 207-foot fishing vessel Sea Fox said they last saw the man Thursday at about 5:30 p.m. and determined the man went overboard at approximately 2 a.m. today.
The Coast Guard Joint Rescue Coordination Center watchstanders received the call today at 10 a.m.
An aircrew from Air Station Barbers Point launched an HC-130 Hercules aircraft around 1 p.m. and will conduct a search of the last known position of the missing crewmember.
The Sea Fox crew is also conducting its own search using a helicopter aboard the ship.
It is unknown if the missing crewmember was wearing a life jacket at the time he reportedly went overboard.
