Senate President Colleen Hanabusa, who is a candidate in the First Congressional District race, Thursday announced that she has raised $252,812 in the fourth quarter of 2009.

"My opponents had the advantage of raising money for months or even years before I announced my candidacy for this seat last October," Hanabusa said in a statement. "The past quarter was important for us to see how much we could close that gap and in the final tally, we raised $252,812 as reflected in our campaign spending report."

Hanabusa’s cash on hand is $218,697, which she said represents the support of 1,013 individual donors.

Candidates in the First Congressional District race are required to file a federal campaign spending report for the fourth quarter by Jan. 31.
