New Farmers Market cookbook to be released this month
The Hawai'i Farmers Market Cookbook — Volume 2: Guide to Fresh Island Foods, edited by Joan Namkoong, a co-founder of several farmers markets and a Big Islanded freelance writer, will be released June 26.
The book was prepared in partnership with the Hawai'i Farm Bureau and includes 75 recipes from from 18 of the Islands' top chefs. It will debut at the Kapi'olani Community College Farmers Market on June 26 with a signing and and additional book events to follow.
Each chef was assigned a single local ingredient to explore, showcasing the fruit or vegeetable's characteristics.
The book includes color photographs by Adriana Torres Chong, a Kapi'olani Community College chef-instructor.
