Oklahoma City, OK
Aloha,
Today was a good day; I think everyone is starting to realize we are actually playing in the World Series and it's time to get down to business. This morning we woke up early and practiced at Oklahoma University, we had a long practice working a lot on everything. Then of course after practice we ran and exhausted ourselves. Everyone was saying they were sore from working out the day before so it was good for us to run and get the blood flowing to our sore muscles.
After practice we had a very nice lunch at Stephanie Ricketts' sisters' house, she cooked us some good southern BBQ. It was so nice to have a home cooked meal, after all it has been 25 days since our last home cooked meal. We all really appreciated it and I know Stephanie was glad to be around her family.
After practice and lunch we came back to the hotel and got ready for the opening ceremonies at an amusement park. We walked into a room full of all the other teams and their coaches and of course, all of the ESPN commentators. There was a highlight video showing some highlights from each team throughout the season. Then they passed out the Player of the Year award to Danielle Lawrie, which she accepted. After the awards, we had a buffet dinner and we were free to ride the roller coasters. We had a fun night and we are looking forward for tomorrow, we get to practice at the stadium and shoot all of our ESPN interviews. But most of all, we are looking forward to game time on Thursday.
