Hospital patient arrested after stolen cards found
Police arrested a 37-year-old Mānoa woman at a hospital Tuesday after it was discovered that she had credit cards and other items bearing the names of other people.
The woman had been taken to Straub Clinic and Hospital to be treated for a possible drug overdose. A nurse took inventory of her personal items upon arrival.
After the woman was treated, a second nurse was preparing to return the items to her when she noticed the patient had an ID card, driver's license and several credit cards bearing the names of other people.
Police were called to the hospital, and after a short investigation, determined that the items had been reported stolen during a car break-in.
The woman was arrested about 12:30 p.m. on suspicion of unauthorized possession of confidential personal information.
