Red-flag warning for all leeward sides of Hawaiian Islands until 6 p.m.
A red-flag warning remains in effect until 6 p.m. today for all leeward sections of the Hawaiian Islands.
The National Weather Service in Honolulu said strong and gusty trade winds combined with low humidity and warm temperatures will persist today that can create the potential for critical fire conditions.
Meanwhile, the weather service is also reporting that the Big Island NOAA Weather Radio WWG27 serving the south side of the island at frequency 162.550 MHZ is experiencing intermittent outages. Technicians are working to restore service but there is no estimated time of when the repairs will be done.
