PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. — Super Bowl champion quarterback Drew Brees is finally getting to play his first round of offseason golf.
With Jack Nicklaus, no less.
Brees is playing in a Pro-Am before the Honda Classic with Nicklaus, Dan Marino and saxophonist Kenny G — about an hour’s drive north of the stadium where he led the New Orleans Saints over the Indianapolis Colts for the Super Bowl title last month.
Brees says it’s the first time he’s played a round of golf since June, and that he’s hoping Nicklaus gives him some tips.
That might not be likely. Brees wore a Purdue cap for his round. Nicklaus is an Ohio State man.
