Tom Lee's multimedia puppet theater production "Ko'olau: A True Story of Kaua'i" will be presented 7:30 p.m. tomorrow at Windward Community College.

Lee, who hails from Hawai'i, used a Jim Henson grant for this retelling of the story of Kaluaiko'olau, a paniolo who was diagnosed with Hansen's disease in 1892 and took his family to live in secret on Kaua'i's isolated Nā Pali coast rather than face exile to Kalaupapa on Moloka'i, shooting three men who attempted to capture him. Lee uses the little-known puppetry form kuruma ningyo (wheeled puppets), shadow projections and video in the play.
