MIAMI — Joey Porter is again a free agent, and this time his release by the Miami Dolphins is expected to stick.
The Dolphins on Friday terminated the contracts of Porter, linebacker Akin Ayodele and safety Gibril Wilson.
Miami released the disgruntled Porter last month, but he reverted to the roster because of a salary cap technicality. The four-time Pro Bowl linebacker had campaigned to be released while complaining about his reduced role last season and his relationship with coach Tony Sparano.
Wilson was a flop in his only season with the Dolphins, while Ayodele was a two-year starter at inside linebacker. As a replacement for Ayodele, the Dolphins are courting free agent Karlos Dansby, who came to South Florida for a visit Friday.
