Oahu crew dancing in MTV competition
Advertiser Staff
Hype 5-0, the first hip-hop crew selected to represent Hawaii in MTV’s “Randy Jackson Presents: America's Best Dance Crew” will compete tonight in the fourth round of the show’s season-five nationals.
Last week, the seven-member Oahu crew competed against a total of seven other crews from west, east and south regions. Last month, the crew competed against other crews representing the west in a regional competition. Hype 5-0 was among the top three selected by judges to advance to the national competition, which started with nine crews.
At the end of tonight's show, which will air at 10 p.m. Hawaii time, one crew is slated to be eliminated from the ongoing national competition.
Fans will be encouraged to vote for their favorite crew. During tonight’s show, hosts will provide phone numbers and other information about voting, which will be under way for a short period.
