Traffic over the South Punalu'u Stream Bridge on Kamehameha Highway will be rerouted beginning today, the state Department of Transportation said.

Motorists will be directed to a temporary bridge while the stream bridge is replaced.

Traffic will be contraflowed through a temporary route until noon while crews re-stripe lanes on each entry side, the Transportation Department said. Then lanes in both directions will be open, with lower speed limits around the work zone.
