When Emme Tomimbang introduces her new weekly television series, "Emme's Classic Island Moments," she will be dressed in local style by local designers.
With help from Mary Miyaguchi, who created Emme's namesake line for Iolani Sportswear, Tomimbang has selected a handful of local designers to showcase during her interviews. Although the Emme line was discontinued five years ago, Miyaguchi and Tomimbang have remained friends and are now partnering to identify local designers whose clothes would work for the Classics show.
Among the designers to be featured are Sierra Dew, Jodi Salmonson, Linda Iki and Alison Amii.
"Emme's Classic Island Moments" revisits many of Tomimbang's earlier shows, as well as offering updated interviews with local celebrities such as Jimmy Borges, Tom Moffatt, Nohelani Cypriano and Vicky Cayetano.
