HONOLULU — Two state House committees are set to examine cuts to Hawaii human-services programs at a Kauai hearing.
The House committees on human services and housing on Friday will review the proposed reductions in the Department of Human Services’ budgets and their effect on families, individuals, the disabled, the elderly, and state workers.
The panels also will discuss the cuts’ effects on housing for indigent persons.
Top officials of the department and community organizations have been invited to appear.
The hearing will begin at 5 p.m. at the Kauai Community College cafeteria in Lihue.
