Ala Moana is celebrating spring fashion this week as the third annual Shop a Le'a begins today and continues through Sunday.
The weeklong festival of style features fashion shows, trunk shows, exclusive products, events at Centerstage and gifts given with purchases.
Visionary stylist Amos Kotomori has been tapped to coordinate three runway shows at Centerstage — at 5 and 7 p.m. Saturday, repeating at 2 p.m. Sunday.
"It's all about the trends for spring," Kotomori said of the show. "We're taking all the trends and interpreting them with 60-plus looks."
The top trends, according to Kotomori: geometric prints, tropical inspiration, origami folds, cut-outs, touches of lace and elements of nature illustrated with romantic watercolor prints.
"There's even a little girly glam with crinolines and everything. And green. Oh, lots of green. Green is the color for spring," he said with emphasis.
Among the stores on the runway will be Betsey Johnson, Banana Republic, DKNY, MAX&Co., Tapestries by Hauoli and Wolford.
All the fashions seen on this runway will be available for sale right after the show.
Need a beauty boost? From 4 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Centerstage there will be a Beauty Bar where participants can choose two complimentary services: mini hand massages by The Body Shop, makeup consultations by MAC Cosmetics, a Philosophy oxygen facial peel by Nordstrom or a hair consultation and quick styling by W Salon. To participate, shoppers need to make a purchase from any of these stores by Wednesday and show their sales receipt (dated between March 17 and 24). A donation of clothing or of an accessory will also qualify you for entry.
The Shop a Le'a grand prize is a spa getaway for two to Sedona, Ariz. Enter to win at Centerstage or at the mall-level information desk outside Louis Vuitton.
