Honolulu Twestival to benefit Concern Worldwide organization
Hawaii’s social media community is organizing a grassroots, volunteer-driven effort to raise money for Concern Worldwide, an international, humanitarian organization dedicated to reducing suffering and working toward the elimination of extreme poverty in the world’s poorest countries.
Honolulu will join hundreds of cities worldwide for Twestival Global 2010. The Honolulu Twestival will be 5-9 p.m. Thursday at Oceans 808. Tickets are $20 advance or $25 at the door, and includes a pupu buffet and two drinks; 100 percent of ticket sales go to Concern Worldwide. Guests must be at least 21 years old to attend.
Organizers aim to bring Twitter and other social networking communities together in an effort to raise money for the organization and help eliminate poverty in the world's poorest countries.
Honolulu’s pau hana-style event will feature food, drinks, raffle and entertainment, including Lehua Kalima Heine, Candy Diaz, Sabrina Velazquez, Wait For It and Yoza.
