Hawaii per-capita personal income fell last year to $42,009, down $68

Hawaiçis per-capita personal income shrank last year as the states economy suffered from an economic downturn.
A report issued Thursday by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis shows that personal income per person was $42,009 last year. That was down $68 from 2008.
The decline amounted to a 0.2 percent slide in personal income per person here.
But it was less than the decline across the country, with the national average falling by 2.6 percent last year to $39,138.
