HONOLULU — The three candidates to fill a vacant U.S. House seat are taking varying positions on the just-passed federal health reform bill.

Republican Honolulu Councilman Charles Djou said at a Thursday candidates forum sponsored by business and real estate groups that the new law should be overhauled to include GOP ideas.
He said afterward the law should be repealed if Democrats and President Obama do not agree to the changes.
State Senate President Colleen Hanabusa and former U.S. Rep. Ed Case, both Democrats, generally supported the bill but say there are less severe changes they’d like to see.
The candidates also disagreed on last year’s economic stimulus legislation and whether the federal government should have bailed out the U.S. auto industry.
