Ashley Valine pitched a six-hitter as Hawai'i Pacific beat Dominican, 3-0, yesterday to complete a sweep of a Pacific West Conference softball doubleheader at San Rafael, Calif.

Kozy Toriano hit an RBI single for the Sea Warriors (25-1, 17-1). Jessi Saaty had two hits for the Penguins (1-19, 1-15).

In the first game, Sherise Musquiz pitched a two-hitter with eight strikeouts and Ciera Senas had two hits and two RBIs as HPU won, 9-0, in five innings.

BYUH splits: Shiri Stevens capped a five-run rally in the bottom of the seventh with an RBI single as Brigham Young-Hawai'i, the designated home team, edged Notre Dame de Namur, 12-11, to earn a split of a PacWest doubleheader at Belmont, Calif. Morgan Necaise had two hits and three RBIs, Hannah Bateman had three hits and an RBI, and Jarrell Veazie homered for the Seasiders (2-22, 2-13). In the second game, Breanna Morales hit a three-run homer to lead the Argos (8-20, 6-14) to a 7-2 victory.

Hilo splits: Amber Waracka pitched a five-hitter with eight strikeouts as Hawai'i-Hilo beat Cal State Stanislaus, 6-2, to salvage a split of a nonconference doubleheader at Turlock, Calif. Tessa Truong hit a two-run homer and Sarah Weisskopf a solo shot for the Vulcans (23-10). In the first game, Veronica Luna had three hits and four RBIs to lead the Warriors (6-21-1) to a 10-3 victory. Sierra Green had three hits and Truong hit a solo homer for Hilo.

Baseball: Rylan Morihara had three hits and Blake Amaral hit a two-run homer as Hawai'i Pacific beat Northwest Nazarene, 9-4, yesterday to salvage a split of a nonconference doubleheader at Nampa, Idaho.

In the first game, Sean McDonald batted 7 for 7 and the Crusaders (15-14) amassed 27 hits in a 22-7 victory. Kale Sumner went 4 for 4 for the Sea Warriors (22-7).

Water polo: Monika Eggens scored three goals as No. 5 Hawai'i beat No. 14 San Diego State, 9-6, yesterday in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match in San Diego, Calif.

The Rainbow Wahine are 10-6, 2-2 while the Aztecs are 16-10, 0-4.
