LOS ANGELES — The attorney for ex-Los Angeles Dodgers CEO Jamie McCourt says his client should get $1 million a month from her estranged husband because she has seven mortgages and deserves to continue a comfortable lifestyle.
Jamie McCourt and Dodgers owner Frank McCourt appeared in court Monday in Los Angeles.
Jamie McCourt's attorney, Dennis Wasser, asked a Superior Court commissioner to award his client $1 million a month because the couple spent millions of dollars during a portion of her 30-year marriage.
Wasser says his client's mortgages and related expenses total $568,000 a month — more than half what she is asking from her husband. Wasser says Jamie McCourt is also behind on her attorney fees by $800,000.
Frank McCourt's attorney will speak later in the hearing.
