Four 17-year-old boys were arrested on suspicion of first-degree burglary in two separate incidents in Kakaako late last night and early this morning.
In the first incident, an 18-year-old man told police he was approached about 11:40 p.m. by two boys who asked him for a dollar.
The man said he told the boys he had no money, at which point they walked away.
The man told police the two reappeared a few minutes later, and one of the boys held a brick in his hand and demanded that he empty his pockets or risk being smashed in the face with the brick.
The man said he turned his pockets inside out to show the boys he had no money.
At that point, one of the boys grabbed the baseball cap from his head and the two left the area with his cap, the man reported.
Police were called to the area and arrested the two boys nearby. The brick and the baseball cap were recovered, police said.
In the second incident, a 29-year-old man reported being robbed about 12:15 a.m.
The man said he was riding his skateboard on the street when two boys attacked him.
The man told police the boys threw rocks at him and then punched him.
One of the boys demanded his money and the second took his necklace and cell phone, while a third boy watched what was happening, the man reported.
Private security officers who were in the area stopped and detained two of the boys.
They held the two suspects until police arrived and arrested the pair on suspicion of first-degree robbery.
