Craft and ukulele workshops offered at Jimmy Buffett's in Waikiki

"Fins Up! Hands On! an new, ongoing interactive craft workshop series beginning Thursday, April 1 at Jimmy Buffett's restaurant at the Beachcomber hotel, will feature some of Hawaii and Japan's most renowned instructors in the fields of DECO Clay Craft, Hawaiian quilt, ribbon lei, and ukulele.
The ongoing classes are open to all experience levels and include a 10 percent donation to Music Is Good Medicine, a local charity led by ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro.
The schedule:
• DECO clay: 1 to 3 p.m., Tuesdays, restaurant's lanai area; fee, $35.
• Hawaiian quilts: 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesdays, lanai area; fee, $35.
• Ribbon lei (with flowers, leaves, nuts and seeds): 1 to 3 p.m. Thursdays, lanai area; fee, $35.
• Ukulele: 12:30 to 11:30 p.m. Fridays, The Honolulu Surfing Museum, Beachcomber Hotel lobby; fee, $35.
