Gusty trades remain in Isle forecast
Advertiser Staff
The National Weather Service says strong, gusty trades will continue today.
A wind advisory for the state remains in effect until 6 tonight.
The weather service says strong high pressure north of Hawaii will produce trades of 20 mph to 30 mph today, with gusts of up to 50 mph.
The winds are expected to diminish tonight but breezy conditions will persist.
The weather service says strong gusts can make driving difficult, and that drivers should also be prepared for falling branches and possible power outages that could affect traffic signals.
Meanwhile, a high-surf advisory remains in effect for north-, west- and east-facing shores as the winds add to a large northwest swell.
The weather service also is warning mariners of near gale conditions across coastal waters.
