NBA: Lakers’ Odom wearing brace for sore knee

By Kevin Ding
The Orange County Register

OKLAHOMA CITY — As if the Lakers needed another injury concern, Lamar Odom wore a brace on his right knee Friday night in Game 6 against Oklahoma City.

Odom was also getting electric stimulation on the inside of that knee in the hours before the game. The Lakers are just calling the injury a "sore knee."

Odom already has a sore left shoulder, and he did not practice Thursday. Odom still played his usual rotation as the first sub for the Lakers in Game 6, although he replaced guard Derek Fisher in a new twist for the Lakers so they could better match up with the big lineup Oklahoma City coach Scott Brooks put out there.

Odom made three of his first five shots — the makes being a corner three-pointer, an inside shot while being fouled and a layup in delayed transition.

The Lakers did get some positive news on their long injury list: Guard Shannon Brown ditched the tape job of his sprained right thumb and proceeded to sink all three long jumpers he attempted in the first half. His only miss came on a fast break, and his flip shot could've been ruled goaltending when blocked.

Ron Artest wore a protective shirt with a pad over his left shoulder to protect a bruise suffered last game.
