Cab driver injured in beating
A 41-year-old cab driver was found unresponsive in a grocery store parking lot early yesterday morning, possibly the target of a robbery, officials said.
The man was allegedly assaulted by two people in the parking lot at Times Waipahu, said Bryan Cheplic, city Department of Emergency Services spokesman.
The 1:55 a.m. attack left the man in critical condition with head and facial injuries.
Witnesses saw two men running from the the area where the man was found. No arrests have been made.
MAN STABBED BY INTRUDER IN HOME
A 54-year-old Papakōlea man was in serious condition after he was stabbed by an intruder as he slept early yesterday morning.
Police arrested a 34-year-old man, identified as the victim's former neighbor.
The victim's family reported that the man entered the home around 1:45 a.m. and assaulted the victim as he slept. He was detained by witnesses at the scene.
The victim suffered multiple puncture wounds to the head and body, police said.
