HONOLULU — The U.S. Treasury has awarded $737,000 to three Hawaii organizations.
The money will be divided among Hawaii First FCU, the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement and the Kanu o ka Aina Learning Ohana.
They are the beneficiaries of the Community Development Financial Institutions Fund's Native American assistance initiative.
The organizations are among 45 institutions nationwide selected to share more than $10 million in financial and technical assistance awards for Fiscal Year 2010.
The program supports native institutions that better address the development and capital access needs of native communities.
