Three people were injured, one critically, in a single-car crash yesterday afternoon in Waiawa.

The incident occurred about 2:50 p.m. in the east-bound lanes of H-1 Freeway near the H-2 Freeway merge. Police said the vehicle flipped at least once before coming to rest.

A man who appears to be in his 30s was taken to a hospital in critical condition, said Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the city Emergency Services Department. A woman, who appears to be in her 20s, and a girl were in stable condition, Cheplic said.

The crash caused a large traffic jam in both directions of the freeway.
