SEOUL, South Korea — Reports say two Olympic medalists in short-track speed skating have been banned from competing for three years for their alleged involvement in a race-fixing scandal.
South Korean media reports say Lee Jung-su and Kwak Yoon-gy were notified Wednesday of the suspension. The athletes are accused of helping to rig competitions and national team tryouts in March. Lee and Kwak have seven days to appeal the decision.
Lee won gold at the Vancouver Olympics in the men's 1,000 and 1,500-meter races. Kwak won a silver in the men's 5,000-meter relay.
