HONOLULU — The anti-drunk driving group Mothers Against Drunk Driving has announced its 18th annual Youth and Law Enforcement Awards.
Dozens of young people and police officers were recognized for making exceptional contributions to the fight against drunk driving and for preventing underage drinking.
Among the awards announced Wednesday were Tabatha Laanui of Maryknoll High School and Amanda Victorino of Kapolei High School.
Several prosecutors in the Honolulu City Prosecutor's office were named, as were units and individual officers in the Honolulu, Maui, Kauai and Big Island police departments.
Winners are to be presented with plaques during a luncheon Thursday at The Pacific Club in Honolulu.
