MLB: Giants' Renteria sidelined again by groin injury
MIAMI — San Francisco Giants shortstop Edgar Renteria has again been sidelined by a groin injury, and this time he may be headed for the disabled list.
Renteria missed four games before rejoining the lineup Thursday against the Florida Marlins. He left for a pinch-hitter in the third inning after aggravating the injury turning a double play.
"It's a possible DL," manager Bruce Bochy said. "He had five days off and re-injured it. We'll see what's the best we can do here."
Renteria grounded out in his only plate appearance and labored running to first. Juan Uribe replaced Renteria at shortstop.
