One-car crash on Maui leaves three injured, two critically
Two women are in critical condition after a one-vehicle crash on Maui, police said.
The accident happened about 1 a.m. Saturday, when the 19-year-old driver of a 2008 Chrysler Sebring convertible apparently lost control on Honoapi'ilani Highway in Waikapu, ran into a ditch and rolled over.
The three occupants in the vehicle were not wearing seatbelts and were ejected.
The driver of the car, a woman from Kihei, was taken to the Maui Memorial Medical Center in critical condition along with an 18-year-old passenger, also of Kihei.
A 19-year-old man in the car was treated and released.
Police are investigating whether speed, drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
