Abercrombie honored for his support of U.S. troops

Former U.S. Rep. Neil Abercrombie was honored by the National Guard Association of the United States on Saturday for his longtime support of America's troops.
Abercrombie received the Harry S. Truman Award at the annual conference of the Hawaii National Guard Association on the day that Truman was born in 1884.
The award is given each year to an individual who has made sustained contributions to national security.
It is the the highest honor given to an individual by the association.
