Advisory council to discuss new schools with public

Advertiser Staff

Gov. Linda Lingle's Maui advisers are meeting with the public this week to discuss new schools and other education projects.

The governor's Maui advisory council will hear from Maui Complex Area Superintendent Lindsay Ball at the Lahaina Civic Center on Thursday.

Ball will tell them about Department of Education projects including a proposed Kīhei High School, a proposed Wailuku II Elementary School and the Pā'ia School cafeteria.

Lingle created advisory councils to give Neighbor Island residents a stronger voice in state government.

The Maui council holds monthly public meetings.
