A judge has been asked to bar four adults who were arrested last month during a sit-in at Gov. Linda Lingle's office from entering that office as a condition of bail.

Deputy city prosecutor Chastity Imamura yesterday made the motion before District Judge Colette Garibaldi.

Attorney Eric Seitz, who is representing the one parent and three other adults arrested during the sit-in, will argue against the motion today, when the four are to be arraigned.

It could not be immediately determined if Lingle or her aides requested the motion.

The four, who were arrested on misdemeanor criminal trespassing charges, are Marguerite Higa, a spokeswoman for the parent group Save Our Schools; Michael Doyle; Carrie Lau; and Teresa Kessenich-Chase.

More than a dozen other people were cited for trespassing, a less serious offense, during the sit-in that took place April 7 to 14.
