Four adults who were arrested during school furlough protests in Gov. Linda Lingle's office last month have agreed to an amended court order barring them from conducting more sit-ins during nonworking hours.

Deputy City Prosecutor Chastity Imamura had filed a motion with District Judge Colette Garibaldi asking that the four demonstrators be banned from the governor's office at all times as a condition of bail.

But yesterday, Imamura and Eric Seitz, a Honolulu lawyer representing the four, agreed to an amended motion that bars them from remaining in Lingle's office after it closes each weekday.

The four defendants, members of the parents group Save Our Schools, are Marguerite Higa, Michael Doyle, Carrie Lau and Teresa Kessenich-Chase.
