Two injured in near drownings
Two people were injured in two different near drownings today, according to Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the city's Emergency Services Department.
At 11 a.m. in Waikiki, a man in his 70s was brought in near shore where lifeguards performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation, Cheplic said. The man was taken by paramedics in critical condition.
Then at 1 p.m. at Hanauma Bay, a woman in her 30s was given cardiopulmonary resuscitation by lifeguards and was revived. Paramedics took her to a trauma center in critical condition.
