HOUSTON — Brian Cushing was back on the football field Monday, glad to have a diversion from his recent problems.
The Houston linebacker took part in the Texans' first offseason team practice after spending the last several days dealing with the fallout from a four-game suspension for testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug.
Cushing says he it was good to be "thinking about something else" and that he was happy to be with his teammates.
Cushing confirmed last week that he tested positive for HCG, a fertility drug that is on the league's banned substance list. He says he never took a banned substance and has no idea how the positive test happened.
He says he doesn't believe he has to prove himself after his drug suspension and doesn't "feel there's a limit" to what he can do this season.
