A dedicated lane for stand-up paddleboarders is being laid out today at Ala Moana Beach Park.
The state Department of Land and Natural Resources says the corridor will extend the length of nearshore waters, starting at the Diamond Head end.
The lane will be in use for a six-month trial period.
Its installation follows meetings with swimmers and stand-up paddleboarders over ways to resolve conflicts over right of way in the popular swimming area.
