State sets meeting for Round Top Drive project
A meeting on Wednesday will provide information about a project to construct concrete dispersion channels at Round Top Drive in Manoa.
The Department of Land and Natural Resources will share details of the project and answer any questions.
This project was aimed at addressing flooding that occurred from heavy rains in March 2006. At that time, two drainage culverts along Round Top Drive point discharged rain run-off directly to the Manoa homes below.
A concrete dispersion channel will be constructed at each of the two drainage culverts. These dispersion channels will collect the rain run-off and spread it out over a larger area, allowing the water a better chance to seep into the ground.
The project is anticipated to start on June 1 and be completed by the end of October at a cost of about $938,836.
The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Noelani Elementary School cafeteria on 2655 Woodlawn Drive. Anyone needing special assistance is asked to contact Roger Masuoka at 587-0276 by Monday.
