Mavis Tracy Ballet School in Kailua is celebrating its 50th anniversary this weekend with a spring "Hannah & Gretel" recital, which tweaks the Germanic fairy tale so that both main characters are little girls.

Performances are scheduled for 6 p.m. today and 2 p.m. tomorrow at Windward Community College's Paliku Theatre. Tickets will be available at the door; $15 for adults, $12 for ages 4 to 18. More information is available at www.mavistracyballetschool.com.
