Bank of Hawaii teams up with China UnionPay

HONOLULU — Bank of Hawaii has signed an agreement making it more convenient for Chinese visitors and China UnionPay cardholders to access funds while in the Islands.
The bank said it and CUP signed a joint market development agreement in Waikiki on Monday.
Band of Hawaii said the move will enhance acceptance of the more than 2.1 billion cards issued by CUP member banks at the bank's ATM network and merchant terminals.
The terminals will offer Chinese language transaction screens, and merchant terminals will be made CUP card-enabled.
BOH President Al Landon says with a growing number of visitors from China coming to Hawaii every year, the agreement is an opportunity to provide extended customer service.
