Police seek car that struck moped rider and then fled
Kaua'i police are seeking the public's help in locating a silver car that hit a moped rider in Kapa'a and then fled the scene, leaving the rider seriously injured.
The rider was taken to Wilcox Hospital after the accident at 8:52 p.m. Saturday.
The moped was heading west on Olohena Road near the intersection of Olohena and Lehua roads. The silver car was headed eastbound, making a left turn onto Lehua Road from Olohena Road when it struck the moped.
Police said that the silver car has some scratches and scrapes on the driver's side and possibly yellow paint from the moped.
