UH's Zemljak earns academic honor

University of Hawai'i junior setter Nejc Zemljak has been named to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men's volleyball academic all-conference team for the second consecutive year.

Criteria for selection included a 3.0 grade point average or better, at least a sophomore academically, completed one full academic year and played in 50 percent or more of the team's matches.

Zemljak, a native of Maribor, Slovenia, started all 29 matches at setter and appeared in all 109 sets.

Zemljak was named all-MPSF honorable mention after averaging 13.14 assists per set, which was fifth-best in the MPSF and led the team and ranked fifth in the league with 40 aces.

SHOJI HOSTING FOUR CAMPS AT UH

The 30th annual Rainbow Wahine Volleyball Camp will have four sessions beginning June 14. Camps are conducted by 2009 national coach of the year Dave Shoji, with his staff and current and former players.

Programs are designed for girls and boys of all skill levels, in grades 4 to 12. The camps are June 14 to 17, July 19 to 22, July 23 to 26 and Aug. 3 to 6, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., on the University of Hawai'i campus.

Cost is $160 per camp.
