A professional boxing and mixed martial arts event will be held at Waipahu High School Sunday at 5 p.m.

Part of the proceeds will benefit the Waipahu High athletic department.

Doors open at 4 p.m.

The main event features middleweights Chris Cisneros taking on UFC veteran Ronald Jhun.

Tickets are $30 (advance), $40 at the door.

LITTLE LEAGUE SEMINARS HITTING THE ISLANDS

Little League administrators will conduct a series of baseball and softball clinics in Hawai'i to train administrators how to operate their leagues.

Members from the West Region headquarters in San Bernardino, Calif., will conduct these Little League Road Shows, or training and information seminars, at various locations around the country.

In Hawai'i, 7,350 players participate in the Little League program. They form 490 teams and 32 leagues. All Little League administrators are invited to attend any of the Road Shows.

FREE LACROSSE CLINIC SUNDAY AT KAPI'OLANI

The Aloha Youth Lacrosse Association will hold a free lacrosse clinic and season registration from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Kapi'olani Park on Paki Avenue fields.

More than 300 girls and boys play lacrosse on O'ahu, from age 7 through high school.

New players are welcome, and no experience is necessary.

Players should wear running shoes and bring water.

The 10-game Youth Lacrosse season runs from March through May.

MIKE SAKAMOTO FISHING SCHOLARSHIP OFFERED

Applications are being accepted for the Mike Sakamoto Memorial Scholarship from now until Feb. 28.

Sakamoto, a local fishing icon best known as host/producer of the Fishing Tales television program, died last January.

The Mike Sakamoto Memorial Scholarship fund was developed by the Pacific Islands Fisheries Group, a non-profit 501(c) 3.

The program will award students $10,000 in scholarship funds.

A tireless advocate for the sports of fishing and diving, Sakamoto dedicated much of his time to the protection of fishing traditions and rights. The scholarship is intended to carry on Mike Sakamoto's work and philosophy toward improving Hawai'i's ocean resources.
